Master class professors
Anne Jelle Visser is a professor at Zurich University of the Arts and Lucerne University of Applied Sciences and Arts. Between 1989 and 1996, the Dutch tuba player was principal tuba player with the North Netherlands Philharmonic Orchestra, and from 1999 to 2014 he held the same position with the Zurich Opera Orchestra.
Anne Jelle studied at the Sweelinck Conservatory in Amsterdam, where he received musical inspiration from musicians such as Roger Bobo, Mel Culbertson, Rex Martin, Gene Pokorny, Donald Blakeslee, Warren Deck, Arnold Jacobs, Tommy Johnson, Bob Tucci and Laszlo Szabo.
In addition to his teaching activities in Switzerland, he also passionately teaches tuba players worldwide in master classes. The students in his class at the Zurich University of the Arts and the Lucerne University of Applied Sciences and Arts have enjoyed great success, playing in orchestras in Germany, France, Italy, Switzerland, the Netherlands, Sweden, Estonia, Singapore, Australia, the USA and China. In addition, many of his students have won prizes at major international competitions.
