Anton Ludwig Wilhalm

Born in 1966, Wilhalm was first taught the trumpet at the age of 11. He would have loved to start at a younger age, but his parents were not able to fulfil all their nine children’s wishes at once.

At the age of 18, he embarked on his musical adventure. His first stop was the Leopold Mozart Conservatory in Augsburg, where he was taught by Christian Böld, solo trumpetist at the Bavarian State Opera. He completed the diploma programme.

In 1989, he moved further north, studied at the University of Music Detmold, was taught by Prof. Max Sommerhalder and completed the diploma programme of Arts.

Anton Ludwig Wilhalm had to provide for himself form an early age, so he played the trumpet in several orchestras. He is a laureate of the international brass musician competition in Passau. His portfolio also includes numerous radio and TV performances as well as studio recordings. He toured Europe, North and South America, China and Japan.

He is a soloist, professor and a member of “Bozen Brass”. In addition, he is the musical director of Musikschule Oberengadin (Upper Engadine Music School) and the artistic director of Brassweek Samedan.
