Benny Brown

Benny Brown was born on 1 May 1983 in Münster (Westphalia). He grew up in a family of musicians, learned to play the piano in early childhood and discovered the trumpet at the age of 16. After four years of classical formation with Achim Bödner and after having graduated from high school (Abitur), he served in the military as principal flugelhorn and principal trumpet of the Luftwaffenmusikkorps III (Air Force Music Corps III). He then moved to Hamburg to study the trumpet, where he was taught by Ingolf Burkhardt (jazz), Lennart Axelsson (lead) and Eckhard Schmidt (classical). During that period, he went on international tours with the Landesjugendjazzorchester NRW and later with the Bundesjugendjazzorchester (BuJazzO), conducted by Peter Herbolzheimer, Maro Lackner, Bill Dobbins and Ed Partyka.

2014, Benny’s debut disk “Brown” by the “Benny Brown Band”, his favourite project, was released.

By now, Benny is an internationally established and respected all-round trumpetist. He has performed countless live concerts and studio sessions.

Since 2014, Benny has been official endorser for B&S trumpets. He teaches workshops and plays concerts all over Europe.
